Solibri API - Launching Solibri Superrun

Since: 26.9.0

You can start a Superrun workflow in four ways:

In every case except the Superrun view, Solibri is started with the path to your .superrun file as the command-line argument. Solibri then shows the Superrun view, loads the file, and runs it immediately. Because the run is non-interactive, modal dialogs are suppressed; end the workflow with an EXIT action so that Solibri closes when the workflow is done.

Superrun requires a license that includes it, and each run consumes one Autorun seat from your license quota. If Superrun is not enabled for your license, the file is not run and the reason is written to the log.

Running a Superrun from the Superrun view

  1. Open the Superrun view.
  2. Build a workflow, or open an existing one with Open Superrun.
  3. Click Run to run the whole workflow, or select actions and use Run selected to run only those.

Validate checks the workflow without running it and without consuming a seat. Cancel stops a run; the action that is already running is not interrupted, but no further actions are started. The Console tab shows the output of each action.

Double-clicking a Superrun file

The Solibri installer associates the .superrun extension with Solibri on both Windows and macOS, so double-clicking a .superrun file starts Solibri and runs that workflow.

Using a shortcut to launch Solibri Superrun

Create a shortcut on your desktop and add the paths to Solibri and the .superrun file in the Target field, for example by copying the existing Solibri shortcut and editing its properties:

"C:\Program Files\Solibri\SOLIBRI\Solibri.exe" "C:\Users\Public\Superrun\nightly-check.superrun"

Rename the shortcut, for example to Solibri Superrun.

Using a batch file to launch Solibri Superrun

A batch (.bat) file is a text file that Command Prompt runs line by line. You can use one to start a Superrun workflow and optionally print status messages.

To create a batch file:

  1. Create a new text file in any text editor.

  2. Add the paths to Solibri and your .superrun file. To close Command Prompt when the run finishes, add exit at the end. You can also add other commands if needed:

@ECHO off

ECHO Thank you for using Superrun
ECHO Superrun is running...

REM You can modify the line below to suit your needs.
"C:\Program Files\Solibri\SOLIBRI\Solibri.exe" "C:\Users\%Username%\Desktop\nightly-check.superrun"

exit
  1. Save the file.

  2. Change the file extension to .bat.

Tip
If you use a batch file to launch Solibri Superrun, you can use Task Scheduler to run the batch file automatically at a scheduled time.

Using Command Prompt to launch Solibri Superrun

Open Command Prompt and run Solibri with the path to your .superrun file as an argument:

"C:\Program Files\Solibri\SOLIBRI\Solibri.exe" "C:\path\to\nightly-check.superrun"

Use quotes around paths that contain spaces.

Using the Terminal on macOS

Open Terminal and run:

/Applications/Solibri/Solibri.app/Contents/MacOS/Solibri "/path/to/nightly-check.superrun"

Solibri is typically installed in /Applications/Solibri. Use quotes around paths that contain spaces.

Chaining workflows

A workflow can run another workflow with the RUN_SUPERRUN action. The referenced file's enabled actions are executed in place, and no additional seat is consumed. A referenced file must not itself contain a RUN_SUPERRUN action.
